I can share this post in full later, but I hope you’ll go to The Huffington Post today and read my latest post, “The True Meaning of 2012.”
Here is a short excerpt, “We have indeed entered a critical time in human history. A tsunami is rapidly building on the horizon. Every person on earth is connected like never before, through the Internet and cell phones. Most of us have come to understand that we are perched on a shore that is threatened by a mounting wave of economic and environmental disaster.”
Thanks too for all your great comments on the blog here at my site. Although I cannot reply to each one of them, I very much appreciate your insight and your effort.
Remember, it’s just a movie!

John two things for startes:
1. I am currently working in Afghanistan and would like to know what the significance of the country. I thought I heard today that the chinese paid the minister of mines $30 billion to him personnally to harvest gold out of here. Your thoughts.
2. I would like to move somewhere in central america perhaps panama. Your thoughts again. I would like to start a business there, any business ideas?
BTW. I am from the US and see the future for what it is here.
Jameela,
Thank you for your comment.
John
I look forward to seeing the movie 2012? this weekend. The CGI looked great. Maybe the story and acting won’t be up to par for everyone but the 6 bucks I’ll be paying for the matinee…. well… I think it will be well worth the price for the big special effects alone.
Thank you so much Josh and I’m glad you find my work inspiring. You inspire me as well.
John
John,
Thank you for being an inspiration to me and many others (as your website proves). The world needs more people like you. I was young when 9/11 happened and I didn’t fully, or even partially understand it. I just thought it was horrible that there were people out there that would do something so cruel to innocent people. I was on a path to joining our military and fighting for our country. Then I began to question what our country was actually fighting for and why war was even necessary. I didn’t know the factual evidence, I just had a strong feeling that something wasn’t right about our country and the world, so I decided to go to college instead of joining to military. After three years of college, I now see that joining the US military would have been the greatest mistake of my life. Your books, as wells as others have brought me to see that our American ideals do not match the reality of what is going on in the world. By applying the “eagle-condor” prophecy, the “Eagles” of the world have taken the form of corporate and politcal elites who are pushing the “condors” towards extinction through their greed-driven campaigns for profit. I think that the ways in which they are acheiving this are equally as horrible as if the 2012 theory were actually true. Through learning about things like the Israel-Palestine conflict and the current expolitation in places like Honduras and Haiti, my stomach turns in disgust. Yet it is hard to even share my disgust with others because of the brainwashing US Media. So I thank you for starting organizations for change, and for your courage against the savages at the top of the corporatocracy as you write your books and get them published. I thank you for speaking out everyday, for these are the things that will change the world, and inform the public of the propaganda and disinformation we are fed everyday. I want more than anything to help place a permanent fix on this savage form of capitalism that has taken over the world through US forces and once again I thank you for being part of my inspiration to do so.

Thank you Alicia!
Thank you for sharing your experience so that we may be enlightened with which we are not told. I began reading “The Secret History of the American Empire”. It compelled me to get involved with at least one piece of the puzzle-Nike. I live close to Reebok in MA. I’ve begun speaking to people about Nike and their labor practices. I’ve gone on YouTube to post on their sites which play their commercials and inform people of Team Sweat (Jim and Leslie’s production). I’ve never felt so compelled to do something in my life and with such purpose. I look forward to seeing you when you come in March. I would love the opportunity to discuss any ideas you may have about pushing Reebok-Adidas to be the example for Nike. I’m more than willing and able to bring it to their table.
Thank you for taking time to comment and read the books!
Thank you so much for your kind comment.
John,
I saw you today on C-Span and intuitively recognized the truth of your message, as presented in your book, “Memoirs of an Economic Hitman!” Although I certainly do not have your knowledge of the facts, the picture you presented of the Secret American Empire resonates with my sense of what has been happening in the world. It feels right! It feels like you have just filled in the missing pieces of the puzzle!
Your courageous acknowledgement of these truths is inspiring and gives me hope that something can still be done!! I plan on reading your book and spreading the word amongst friends and colleagues, but I must admit I feel somewhat at a loss as to how to get more “activist.” I support several political organizations, like MoveOn.org and while I feel they go a great job, it often seems they are just scratching the surface. I can only hope that now that your book is in my consciousness, other opportunites will present!
Thank you for your courage and inspiration!!
I am sorry to say tht I had never heard of you until today when I saw you on Book TV. I have “known” these things of which you speak all of my life(!) though not in such detail as I’m sure is in your books. I will be 62 years old in March. It’s almost as if you were speaking my words & thoughts. i was five years old when I was sitting listening to a group of adults talk about the world problems. i spoke up about my “remedy”. There was a long silence and then they laughed about how “precocious & cute”. i was.
The words & ideas I heard from you today, Mr Perkins, came from my soul and I am grateful for however and through whomever they come.
I have considered retirement in a foriegn country for years now and today you made me want to consider Equador very seriously. I voted for Obama and was so pleased when he won, but I must confess I have been somewhat disappointed. Today I am hopeful again. Last night i had dreamed about adults meeting in a home, carrying their blbles and predigested, cliche’ ideas into that meeting place. They left a couple of children out side to wait for them. I watched from my home next door and felt sad for the wisdom of the child being “left outside”. One young boy came to help me with my beautiful disalbed son who was vomiting.
Thank you for allowing my expression here. I hope in some way to contribute to your “movement”. My heart and ponderings have been contributing all my life.
I am in the middle of reading Hoodwinked after having read Confessions a few years back, and you have once again opened my eyes to what is really going on all over the world. Fat corporate cats amassing wealth beyond belief, while the rest of the world slides down a slippery slope of debt, environmental pollution, and political unrest. And it is all happening right under our noses, yet no one is calling them out as criminals and thiefs. Truly hard to fathom, a Banana Republic with no bananas.
People must read this book and open their eyes before it is too late.
I will do my best to spread the word!
Thank you John!
Hi Gwen,
thank you.
John
Mr. Perkins,
Thank you for writing Hoodwinked. I’m reading it now and have read Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, The Secret History of the American Empire, and A Game as Old as Empire. I credit you for awaking me and bringing sense at last to the confusion perpetuated by the mainstream media. I was in a fog. Now I am awake. I tell everyone to read your books and The Wal-Mart Effect by Charles Fishman as well. People will no longer be polarized by parties when we join forces to educate our corporatocracy and demand ethical, sustainable, and compassionate capitalism. Thanks again for your courage to inform us.
Mr. Perkins,
Thank you for writing, “Memoirs of an Economic Hitman”. I read this book and it really filled in the blanks as far banking, resources, and third world realities. Your book really put a face on the I.M.F. and World Bank scams. Noam Chomsky has spoken on these exact things for years. You actually had a hand in this and survived. Survived and turned to humanity with the truth. I have told a lot of people about your book. Some can deal with it, some can’t. I tell the ones who can’t deal with it that it’s still happening!
Again, thank you.
