I’m so grateful to all of you for your support of the book. The tour is just going wonderfully and I hope that I see all of you at some of the upcoming events. I also really appreciate your wonderful comments on the blog.
I know with all of your help we can truly change the world! I’m speaking tomorrow as the keynote for the Net Impact Conference at Cornell.
And on Sunday I will be in San Francisco at the Green Festival. Hope to see you there!

Just finished reading Secret History of the American Empire and I could’nt put it down. My father is retired Air Force,my two brothers are Vietnam Veterans,my ex-husband was Army,my uncle retired police detective Puerto Rico how I survived all their madness I do not know. It true what you did and what you write about the making of sweat shops for the All Mighty Dollar!
Maybe your next book you’ll write and tell all about the sweat shops here in the U.S.A.. I’m talking about the new sweat shops on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi-”the casinos”. Since Katrina 75% of employees are part-time workers.The Human Resource Commitee makes sure of it,they immediatly tell you that none of them hires full-time,but it’s funny how ALL Of Management ARE FULL TIME with hugh salaries,full health coverage and yearly BIG BONOUSES!!! Greed,nepetisism and secrecy are the only qualifactons to get in their club. The daily spying of the employees (eye in the sky) from a secret room with different entrance from secret old retired ex-want to be spies in the name of protecting the company accesses(meaning-the ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR) are the sweat shop tactics used in the third world countries that you write about!
Labor laws no not apply down here.So,Mr.Perkins as you go on your tours and lectures in this country I hope you’ll think about the Casinos sweat shops in the Good Ole USA and give a little nudge that they are right here in our own back yards.
Also for thought -where else in the world does a business use play money (chips)that has absolutly no value,not even in their own establishnment.(can’t use the casino chips to pay for dinner,lunch,breakfast-they have no value-must use real currency;can’t use casino chips to pay for cigarettes,gift shop items or any other merchandise.Can,t leave the casinos with the chips because they are absolutly worthless,but you must EXCHANGE EACH CHIP with REAL US CURRENCY! One more tib-bit-,everyone except management are minimium wage workers.Even the ones of us that does work for tips(the chips must be turned in at the cage and a slip of paper is given and there will be taxes taken on based on real US Currency. The middle class working people have become the little people.Corportacrocy greed is still feeding it’s self. I thank you for getting out and telling the truth.I see you like Paul Revere warning the citizens that the British are coming!!! But I think it’s too late. The new Americans don’t want to be without their material comforts and their useless use of their entertainment time!
